Sony unveils the HT-S2000, a mid-range soundbar made to compete with Sonos and bring much better cinema audio performance. This Dolby Atmos soundbar offers great sound quality with its 3.1 channel layout and novel features. Although it is not part of Sony’s famous HT-A series, which includes the famous HT-A7000, the HT-S2000 has sports decent specs that place it just below the HT-A3000.

The built-in subwoofer makes the bass higher. Sony’s X-balanced speaker units provide increased sound pressure, improved vocal clarity, and less distortion. Thus, this product has all features that its luxury rivals come with.
Despite being billed as a Dolby Atmos soundbar, the HT-S2000 lacks upward-facing drivers. Sony uses its Vertical Surround Engine for overhead sound and S Front Pro for side-firing sound, resulting in 3D audio via Dolby Atmos or DTS:X.

Enhanced user experience
The HT-S2000 comes with the new Home Entertainment Connect app for easy setup and convenient control. This app makes it easy to change settings, troubleshoot, adjust volume, update the soundbar and more. The soundbar offers a variety of connection options, including optical and HDMI eARC cable connections, as well as Bluetooth and Wi-Fi wireless connectivity.
You can pair the Sony HT-S2000 with Sony wireless home cinema speakers and subwoofers. Once don, it will expand the soundbar into a 5.1 configuration. These include compatible wireless subwoofers such as the SA-SW5 and SA-SW3 and wireless rear speakers such as the SA-RS3S. So with its help, you will get a truly great audio system.
Sony HT-S2000 price and competition
The Sony HT-S2000 will be available in June for £449 (around $555 / AU$845). This will put it in direct competition with the Sonos Beam (Gen 2), which is sold for £499 / $499 / AU$799. While neither soundbar has upward-facing drivers, the Sonos Beam (Gen 2) has a 5.0 configuration with additional drivers.
