Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) launched with Snapdragon 6 Gen 1

Motorola remains one of the most relevant players in the mid-range market when we talk about the US market and Latin America. For that reason, the company is constantly updating its lineup with new contenders. Today, the brand is introducing the Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. This is one of the first devices to bring this chipset, which is the first of its kind. The Snapdragon 600 series finally enter the new naming scheme with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Apart from the new chipset, the device brings the obvious stylus behind its name. Without further delay, let’s see what the device has in tow.

Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) specifications

The Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) is a mid-range smartphone and brings a 6.6-inch IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. There is a punch-hole cutout at the top for the 16 MP selfie shooter. The phone brings some upgrades to its main camera setup with a 50 MP camera with f/1.88 aperture. There is also an 8 MP ultrawide shooter that also serves as a macro camera. Since there is one camera doing two functions there is no need for an additional sensor.

In terms of software, the phone runs on Android 13 with Motorola’s MyUX interface on top. The company promises one major Android update and up to three years of security patches. The device draws its power from a 5,000 mAh battery with 20W charging support. Other features include stereo speakers, a headphone jack, and a micro SD card slot for further storage expansion.

Moto G Stylus (2023)

Under the hood, we have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 which brings significant upgrades over one of its predecessors, the Snapdragon 695. To start, the chipset is based on a cutting-edge 4nm process. It also brings 4 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores at 2.2 GHz which ensure great performance.  There are also 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores for power efficiency. The GPU is simply named Qualcomm Adreno, without a specific number. The chipset should provide a significant performance increase over the old Snapdragon 600 series and is also above the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 family.

Pricing

The Motorola Moto G Stylus 5G (2023) will sell in Cosmic Black and Rose Champagne colors. The device sells for 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Internal Storage. It sells for about $399 in the US, and to be honest, that is quite expensive for this package of specifications. The phone will sell from Cricket Wireless starting June 2. The unlocked version will sell from Motorola, Amazon, and BestBuy from June 16.

This is a minor release compared to what the company has for the next days. We expect this model to reach other regions soon, however, the name could be different. Worth noting that there is a 4G Moto G Stylus (2023), it sits way below in terms of specs and also costs less. You can find more about it and other “2023” Moto G models here.
