Vivo S17 Pro Launched: Brings a 2x Telephoto Camera At A Mid-Range Price

Vivo S17 Pro Launched

After a series of leaks and rumors, Vivo has officially announced the S17 series in China. The lineup consists of three new devices:  Vivo S17, S17t, and S17 Pro. The former two are almost identical in most of the areas, except chipsets. We will talk about this in a separate story. In this article, we will go walk you through the Vivo S17 Pro’s specifications and features.

Vivo S17 Pro Overview:

Design and Display

At first glance, the Vivo S17 Pro doesn’t look that different from its predecessor, the Vivo S16 Pro. However, there is a minor design change compared to its predecessor. The third camera is a bit smaller this time around. And surprisingly, the device does not come with the company’s signature feature, a color-changing back.

But it is now available in a new blue color that mimics the sea and stars. According to Vivo, this variant features the industry’s first “particle ink” technology, which combines classical painting with modern technology to create a unique aesthetic. Except this, you can get it in two other shades, namely Ice White Jade, and Black. The phone’s front and back are still made of curved glass. The S17 Pro is also quite slim and thick measuring only 7.46mm and weighing 188g.

The Vivo S17 Pro has a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2800 x 1260 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a high contrast ratio of 8,000,000:1 and can reach a peak brightness of 1300 nits. It also supports 2160Hz PWM dimming for a more comfortable viewing experience. On top of this, the smartphone also has a hardware-level low-blue filter that can reduce harmful light by up to 6.5%.

Performance

Furthermore, powering the smartphone is a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 SoC. The chipset has an octa-core configuration with one Cortex-A78 ( @3.1 GHz), three Cortex-A78 (@3.0 GHz), and four Cortex-A55 ( 2.0 GHz). For instance, the Vivo S16 Pro also has the same chipset.
