OnePlus launched the Nord N20 5G in April of last year. And over a year later, the Chinese manufacturer decided to introduce its successor, the OnePlus Nord N30 5G. However, only a few components saw significant changes.
The OnePlus Nord N30 5G has many similar specs found in the N20 5G. Even the exterior is kind of the same. You will find back cameras in the same layout. But OnePlus did make some updates to give it a fresh feel and improved functionality. However, it’s not easy to say whether those changes are worth the upgrade or not.
OnePlus Nord N30 5G Main Specs
Like the OnePlus Nord N20 5G, the Nord N30 5G comes with the Snapdragon 695 SoC. It is a mid-range chipset that can offer smooth overall performance when you are using less resource-intensive apps.
However, the successor comes with more RAM than its predecessor. You will find 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM on the new phone. In comparison, the Nord N20 came with 6GB of RAM. With this increased amount of RAM, multitasking on the OnePlus Nord N30 should be a breeze.
But the storage aspect remains the same. The OnePlus Nord N30 5G has 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. However, the good news is that OnePlus kept the microSD card slot on the new phone. With it, you can expand the total storage to up to 1TB. That amount of storage will make it easier to keep a lot of photos and files on the phone.
In terms of software, the OnePlus Nord N30 debuted with OxygenOS 13.1, which runs on Android 13. It’s a great skin on top of stock Android and should offer you a smooth overall experience. But the bad news is that the phone will get only get one major Android update. That means the device will max out on Android 14.

Screen and Cameras
The parts where the OnePlus Nord N30 starts to differentiate itself from the N20 are the screen and the cameras. The new phone sports a 6.72-inch FullHD+ panel, which runs at 120Hz. It’s an LCD screen that is larger than the N20 5G. The N20 5G came with a 6.43-inch display that ran at 60Hz.
Thanks to running at a higher refresh rate, the screen of the Nord N30 will make things less choppy and offer a fluid experience throughout the UI. OnePlus has also changed the layout of the screen. Unlike the Nord N20, the punch hole for the N30 5G is in the middle.
On that note, the front of the device has a 16MP selfie shooter. And on the back, the Nord N30 5G features a 108MP sensor, which is the primary highlight of the camera setup. In comparison, the Nord N20 came with a 64MP shooter.
OnePlus has paired the 108MP sensor with a 3x lossless zoom feature, which should enhance the photography performance. As for the secondary cameras, the phone has 2MP macro and depth sensors.
Battery and Other Features of Nord N30 5G
A 5000mAH battery powers up the internals of the OnePlus Nord N30 5G. However, the charging rate will depend on the variant you are getting. For the North American version, the charging speed is capped at 50W. On the other hand, the other version can charge at 67W, which is a step up from the Nord N20.
Other highlights of the OnePlus Nord N30 5G include stereo speakers, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and USB-C. Now, if all these specs of the new device sound familiar to you, it’s worth mentioning that the phone is the rebranded version of the OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite. That device was unveiled back in April of this year. However, it was a China-exclusive device; the Nord N30 is a global release.
