In recent weeks, WhatsApp has seen a lot of new features and changes. The company is working tirelessly to make sure the app is not just secured, but also more appealing to the eye. Day-in-day-out, new developments are always coming to the Meta-owned instant messaging platform. Recently, the company introduced WhatsApp communities to help enhance group communications. We also reported that the company was developing a redesigned WhatsApp keyboard some weeks ago.
According WABetaInfo a website well-known for tracking new features of WhatsApp, there are two new features that are currently ready for beta testing. The first one has to do with a few changes to Communities. The second feature includes some changes to the WhatsApp keyboard interface.
WhatsApp Communities Settings Update
After WhatsApp introduced the Communities feature, the company added a couple of new additions to make the feature a lot better. Now, there is a new addition to this features that will help admins have extra control. This new addition is called “Community Settings”. This adds a new setting to the Communities feature that allows the admin to decide who can add a new member. With this, the admin can offload some responsibility to particular admins by giving them the privilege to add new members.

By default, the creator of the community is the only one who can add new members to the community. The admin can change this in the Settings menu to allow other members have access to the feature.
Redesigned WhatsApp Keyboard Update
The current WhatsApp keyboard looks quite congested due to multiple options that are available. The company aims to make it look cleaner by getting rid of the emojis tabs. This means, the company will now place all emojis under one tab. The user may not have to slide to the left anymore to locate an emoji type. The new changes will rather require users to scroll upwards in order to locate a particular emoji.
The company will also shift the GIF and Stickers tab to the top to help users access it easier. This will make the WhatsApp keyboard look a lot organized and modernized.
At the moment, WhatsApp is rolling out both features to some beta testers, but not all testers have the update. In the coming days, the company will make these updates available to more testers before making it available to the general public. You may have to check from your WhatsApp to see if you have the feature. Else, beta testers can update their WhatsApp from the Google Play Store in order to test these new features.
