Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced the Tekken 8 Closed Network Test, scheduled to take place later this month. This is great news for fighting game fans. The test will take place on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. Players can register today to take part in the PS5-only initial phase of the test, which will run from 21 July to 24 July 2023. All three platforms will be able to participate in a second round of testing from 28 to 31 July.
Tekken 8 Closed Network Test details
Set a few years after the events of its predecessor, Tekken 8 picks up the action to continue the hugely popular franchise. The conflict between Heihachi and Kazuya Mishima was at the center of Tekken 7. But now it is Kazuya’s son, Jin Kazama, who is facing off against his father. This chapter also introduces the game’s new Heat system, which allows players to unleash a more powerful version of their chosen character.
There is currently no firm release date for the game, which is being developed for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S. However, Bandai Namco has already revealed some info about the restricted network test. A total of 16 playable characters will be included in the test. Some familiar names include Kazuya, Jin, King, Jun, Paul, Law, Jack-8, Lars, Xiaoyu, Nina, Leroy, Asuka, Lili, Hwoarang, Bryan and Claudio. The network test video subtly hinted at Claudio’s inclusion as a playable character.
Players will have access to five stages and the broad roster to showcase the game’s diversity. The closed network test will follow a set schedule. From 1 am PT on 21 July until 12 pm PT on 24 July, PS5 players will have early access to participate. A maintenance window will be on 21 July from 1 pm to 4 pm PT.
Steam and Xbox Series X|S users will be able to access the test from 1 am PT on 28 July until 12 am PT on 31 July. Xbox and Steam players should note that there will be a maintenance window on 29 July from 1 am to 4 am PT.
