When it comes to the user interface of an app, a little change can make a big difference. WhatsApp is currently following this procedure. The company began making changes to the user interface some months ago. However, it is taking things quite slowly which is a very good idea. WhatsApp has billions of users around the world and the company does not want to lose any of them. In as much as the user interface requires some modernizations, it is advisable to take a gradual approach in making the changes. Seeing a completely different WhatsApp interface overnight can confuse many users.
Recently, the company introduced some changes to areas such as Group Settings, WhatsApp Channels, WhatsApp Keyboard etc. The company has announced on Thursday that it is rolling out a new interface redesigned update. This new update is called “Redesigned Floating Action Buttons”. As the name suggests, this new update will focus on redesigning the floating buttons on Android devices.
According to WABetaInfo, this is a very fresh introduction which is currently under development. This means that it is not yet ready for Beta testers.
WhatsApp wants to redesign the entire interface to follow the Material Design 3 guidelines. Hence, it now has its focus on redesigning the floating buttons to follow the same guidelines. The floating button here is available in the Android version of WhatsApp. It allows users to quickly begin a new chat. Tapping on it sends the user to all WhatsApp contacts on the device.
What Changes will the Materia Design Bring to WhatsApp Floating Buttons?
The Material Design 3 guideline will also apply to all other floating buttons in WhatsApp. These include the “Call” button under the calls tab and the other two floating buttons under the Status tab. The current buttons have circular shapes. However, the new design will square them a bit with boarder-radius of about 10 Pixels. This will give them round looking edges.
WhatsApp will also bring some improvements to the whole interface. Sources claim that the bar at the button of the screen will have a translucent effect to it. Particularly, this has been the requests of many users of the messaging app for some time now.
WhatsApp Material Design, when will this Become Available?
Currently, the company is working on a couple of interface changes. This happens to be one of the features that are currently under development. There is no official launch date yet, but we look forward to seeing the first beta in a few weeks’ time. As soon as it becomes official, we will immediately bring the news to our readers.
