Samsung has confirmed that its next Galaxy Unpacked launch event will take place in South Korea in July. The company is expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5 at this event. However, discussions about the Galaxy Z Fold 6 have already started among some social media tipsters. It is unclear whether Samsung has finalized the design or specifications of the Galaxy Z Fold 6, but some of this information may have already leaked online.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6
Twitter tipster @Tech_Reve suggests that the Galaxy Fold 6 could bring more significant changes than the Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, it’s important to take these rumors with a grain of salt.
According to the source, the Fold 6 is expected to feature the same 50MP primary camera as the Fold 5. But the design could be inspired by Google’s foldable phones. This development would be intriguing, considering Google’s recent entry into the foldable phone market.
Gizchina News of the week
Samsung might take design cues from Pixel Fold
The Galaxy Z Fold 6 is expected to have a major upgrade in the aspect ratio of its cover screen. This change will likely also affect the aspect ratio of the inner foldable screen unless Samsung decides to use thick top and bottom bezels as Google did on its first foldable device.
This change means the Galaxy Z Fold 6 may have a wider cover screen instead of a narrower one. If not, Samsung would be backtracking its design. The Pixel Fold, Google’s first foldable phone, also has a wider aspect ratio than Samsung’s foldable phones. So it’s not outside the realm of possibility that Samsung would make the Galaxy Z Fold 6 wider as well.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 isn’t even out yet, so it’s hard to say what the Z Fold 6 will be like. Designs and decisions can change in a year, and Samsung is probably still experimenting with concepts for the 2024 model. In the meantime, let’s look forward to the Z Fold 5, which Samsung is expected to unveil next month at Unpacked in South Korea.
