Is Xiaomi Launching Redmi Note 13 Series Soon? Mysterious Phone Appears on IMEI database

Nowadays it’s hard to keep up with the constant releases in the mid-range smartphone segment. While flagships appear on a yearly basis, some brands tend to refresh their mid-range lineups at a faster pace. That said, we are about to see the first glimpse of what seems to be the Redmi Note 13 series. Although Xiaomi is still on full stem launching Redmi Note 12 series smartphones, the first evidence of a Redmi Note 13 appeared on the IMEI database.

Although Xiaomi is not done yet with the Redmi Note 12 series, I believe that the term “Redmi Note 13” will make your heart beat faster. That assuming, you’re a fan of Xiaomi smartphones, of course. Anyway, it’s hard to deny the importance of the Redmi Note series for Xiaomi. Maybe, for the whole mid-range segment. Hence, smartphone enthusiasts have some good reasons to keep track of this lineup and everything new coming under this moniker.

IMEI database reveals what could be the first Redmi Note 13 series phone

It’s hard to keep on track of the Redmi Note 12 series smartphones, considering how many of them have been launched since late 2022. The brand is gearing up to introduce a new Redmi Note 12R in China, and at the same time, is preparing terrain for new releases.

According to ITHome, a new phone believed to be the Redmi Note 13 series, appeared on the IMEI database with model number 2312DRAABC. The Xiaomi experts at Xiaomiui found two additional variants with 2312DRAABI and 2312DRAABG model numbers. Note the “C”, “I”, and “G” at the end of these three respective variants. Xiaomi is known for splitting its releases into three regions: China, India, and Global. This means that 2312DRAABC is for the Chinese market, 2312DRAABI is for India, and 2312DRAABG is for Global markets, which means elsewhere – from Europe to some markets in Asia.

In related news, the Redmi K60 Ultra smartphone passed by the 3C listing with the 23078RKD5C model number. Although the Redmi K60 Ultra also stands as one of Xiaomi’s next releases, its model number is completely different from the one above. So we can discard this mysterious device as being part of the Redmi K60 series. Xiaomi will not launch a Xiaomi 13S series this year, so we can also skip these. That may explain why most of the sources believe that the 2312DRAABC is part of a future Redmi Note 13 series.

The new smartphone series should have multiple variants

Of Course, the IMEI listing is just “a slice of the cake”. The Redmi Note 13 series should follow the tradition of this lineup. And yes, I mean having a lot of different variants (Some of them are not really justifiable, but they exist simply because yes). We can expect a vanilla Redmi Note 13, 13 Pro, and Redmi Note 13 Pro. Xiaomi will likely add some 4G and 5G variants into this basic principle. We may also see “R”, “T”, “Turbo” and “Speed” models in the between. Maybe, we will also see an Explorer Edition to bring back the 210W fast charging.

For now, the better thing to do is to digest this with a pinch of salt. Xiaomi could be preparing the way for the Redmi Note 13 series, but that does not necessarily mean they will come soon. If you’re a die-hard fan of the Redmi Note series, you will want to stay tuned for more details about this release. If the giant is really “paving the way” we will see more of these smartphones going through different certification processes. As usual, some of these certifications (i.e. TENAA or 3C) will give us more details to work on.
