Earlier this year, YouTube TV announced an interesting feature to make Sports View more appealing in the live TV streaming service – multi-window. Now, the feature is expanding beyond its previous limitations to be useful in more ways beyond the Sports category. According to a new report, the service is currently testing the expansion of its multiview feature. For now, it is testing to include news, weather, and more besides sports. The streaming service announced last Wednesday that it’s rolling out these changes gradually over the Summer.

“Starting today in the Home Tab, a small portion of members will see us testing up to 5 brand new multiview streams. These will be available to watch 24/7 across news, sports, business news, weather, and Deportes”, YouTube TV tweeted.
To recall, the multiview was introduced for YouTube TV users early in March. It was introduced just in time for the March Madness season in the NBA. At the time, the feature lets users watch up to four sports streams at once. Google (the parent company) told the folks at CNET that the company was exploring other ways to implement the feature. The goal was to bring multiview to a “variety of content YouTube TV has to offer”. Less than 3 months after this initial rollout for sports, YouTube TV is expanding its reach. It enhances the value of the service, making users feel like they are investing in a product that continuously evolves with new features.
