In 2020, Huawei launched the Mate 40 and P40 series, introducing a pill-shaped cutout on the front of their devices. However, the feature was later replaced by a notch and single-hole cutout design with the Mate 50 and P50 series. Now, Huawei is preparing to fully embrace the dynamic island feature with the Huawei Mate 60 series.
Based on the front display schematics of the Huawei Mate 60, the phone will feature dual cameras with 3D ToF sensors on the front. With this, the Mate 60 will be the first device from Huawei with a centrally dual selfie camera design. Yes, it is the same design found in the Apple iPhone 14 Pro series, the pioneer for the Dynamic Island feature.
About the Two Camera With ToF Sensor Design of Huawei Mate 60 Series
Compared to the predecessor, the Mate 60’s pill-shaped cutout will offer more screen space. This will allow you to view less obstructed content on the screen. And it goes without saying that the viewing experience on the Huawei Mate 60 series devices will be more immersive than the Mate 50 phones.

However, when Apple launched the two cameras with ToF front display design, it introduced a unique software feature. Named Dynamic Island, the feature allows you to view content running in the background, which includes music controls, timers, and notifications.
Now, as the Mate 60 series is implementing the same design, it will likely bring a similar feature. After all, the implementation of Dynamic Island has become quite common in the Android space. For example, you have the Realme C55 that launched with a “mini capsule” design.
So, Huawei will not need to work from scratch just to bring the Dynamic Island feature to the Mate 60 series. Nonetheless, there’s only a limited amount of information available about the phones. Only the display schematics have been revealed. But we expect to get more information soon. So stay tuned.
