Earlier this year, the Moto G13 hit the market with an HD+ display – not the best resolution, but that’s what you got even with the pricier G23 and G53 models. To enjoy FHD+ resolution, you had to opt for the G73. Now, we have the first phone of the Gx4 series, recently unveiled in India – the Motorola Moto G14.
The G14 boasts a significant upgrade with its 6.5-inch FHD+ display (20:9), which offers excellent visual quality, using an IPS LCD screen. However, it runs at 60Hz, stepping down from the 90Hz of the G13 – a trade-off we are willing to accept.
Under the hood, the G14 sports a Unisoc T616, a 12nm chipset featuring 2x Cortex-A75 at 2.0GHz and 6x A55 at 1.8GHz, along with a Mali-G57 MP1 GPU. It’s not far off from the Helio G85, sharing the same CPU cores and clock speeds, although the Mali-G52 MC2 GPU is different.

The phone’s 5,000mAh battery offers an impressive 94 hours of music playback or up to 16 hours of video. Charging is faster than the G13, at up to 15W with the provided 20W charger.

The camera setup remains the same as the G13, featuring a single cam on the back with a 50MP Quad Pixel sensor (0.64µm native pixels, 1.28µm after binning) and a depth sensor. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera (1.12µm), both capable of recording 1080p video at 30fps.
