Honor has just unveiled its latest budget-friendly smartphone. Named the Honor X5 Plus, Honor will soon start sales for the global markets. And to clarify, this is not just another budget-friendly device that will get lost in the already saturated market.
“Instead, the Honor X5 Plus offers a range of cost-effective features that enhance the overall value of the device. You get a decent camera configuration, a large-sized battery, a great display, and, most importantly, an eye-catching design for less than $100.
Main Highlights of Honor X5 Plus
As mentioned earlier, the Honor X5 Plus comes with various cost-effective features. Let’s explore them for a better understanding of the device.
Design
One of the first highlights of the Honor X5 Plus is the overall outlook. It has a starlit-inspired design, which makes the phone look unique. The phone is available in two colors, Cyan Lake and Midnight Black. Both color options resemble gemstones twinkling in the night sky.
Camera Setup
Both the front and back camera configuration of the Honor X5 Plus is pretty great for the price. On the back, you will find a square camera bump, which houses two cameras. One of them is a 50MP sensor, which can capture images with crisp details. The second one is a depth camera, which is there to enhance the portrait shots.
There are multiple camera features in the X5 Plus. For example, you have Portrait with beauty and bokeh modes, Time-lapse, Capture Smiles, Pro, HDR, and Panorama.
On the front, there’s a 5MP selfie camera. It has an f/2.2 aperture, which means it should be able to offer good photos in dimly lit conditions.
Display of the Honor X5 Plus
Another aspect where the X5 Plus shines is in terms of display. It comes with a 6.56-inch FullView panel, which has Natural Dimming features. With Dynamic Dimming tech, the display of the phone changes according to the light around you. As a result, you get a comfortable viewing experience even at night.

Moreover, the 6.56-inch display of the Honor X5 Plus has an HD+ resolution. It has a 20:15:0 aspect ratio, which means you can get a fully immersive content-watching experience on it. Also, it can run at 90Hz, so the motion on the screen will seem smooth and lifelike.
Other than that, the display of the X5 Plus can reproduce 16.7 million colors. This means all the content on the screen will feature true-to-life colors.
SoC and Battery
The phone packs a large-sized battery, which is at 5200mAH. Thanks to this, you can get up to 17.8 hours of non-stop video playback. However, the phone can charge only at 10W, meaning that it will take quite a long time to get from 0% to 100%. An 18W or 20W fast charging support would have made things a lot better.
When it comes to the SoC, the Honor X5 Plus has a Helio G36 chipset. It is an octa-core SoC with four Cortex A53 cores at 2.2GHz and four A53 cores at 1.6GHz. And it comes with IMG GE8320 GPU. While this CPU and GPU config may not be able to run AAA games smoothly, it’s enough for day to tasks and running regular games.
Software
On the software side, the Honor X5 Plus runs MagicOS 7.1. It’s Honor’s skin, based on Android 13, and comes with multiple smart features. For example, it has a multi-window, app twin, device clone, magazine unlock, one-handed mode, and many others.
Availability of Honor X5 Plus
Honor is yet to announce clear details for the availability of the X5 Plus. But considering the fact that it has appeared on the official site, the announcement should come soon. We will keep you posted, so stay tuned.
