Colin worked as an electrical engineer for Tesla’s traction inverters from August 2006 to January 2014. At that time, Tesla hadn’t even built a car. In 2014, he was promoted to Manager of Engineering. This is his first and longest role at Tesla. He eventually got promoted to Manager of Engineering.

Redwood Materials, which he joined, is headquartered in Carson City, Nevada. The company was founded in 2017 by Tesla co-founder and former CTO, JB Straubel.

Redwood turns end-of-life electric car batteries and waste from car factories into raw materials. The company use these parts to make new batteries.
