As we’ve reported before, Xiaomi is pretty much set to release the Note 13 lineup. The launch event is set for this Thursday and will happen in China. And the series will see at least three entries: the Redmi Note 13, the Note 13 Pro, and the Note 13 Pro+. As you can tell, the Pro+ will be the high-end model of the lineup, followed by the Redmi Note 13 Pro and the base version.
Previously, Xiaomi confirmed that the Note 13 Pro+ will come with Dimensity 7200 Ultra. As I’ve reported, this is an upper-mid-range chipset aiming to deliver smooth performance. But for those who don’t like having MediaTek chipsets on their phone, there’s good news for you. Xiaomi has just posted the Redmi Note 13 Pro teaser, which confirms the device’s chipset. And it’s the brand-new Snapdragon 7s Gen 2.
About the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 of Redmi Note 13 Pro
Qualcomm has just recently unveiled the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. At the core, it’s built on the 4nm process technology. And if you can recall, the current flagship Snapdragon SoC, the 8 Gen 2, is built on the same process. That naturally means the performance and efficiency of the 7s Gen 2 will be impressive for a mid-range SoC.
Gizchina News of the week
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2, which powers the Redmi Note 13 Pro, has an eight-core configuration. This configuration consists of 4 performance cores and four efficiency cores. For those wondering, the first four cores run at 2.4GHz, while the latter ones are at 1.9GHz.
Also, the performance benchmark result of the Note 13 Pro is out too. In Geekbench, the phone scored 1012 in the single-core test and 2943 in the multi-core test. The other Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 highlights inside the device include Quick Charge 4+, USB-C 3.1, and LPDDR5 memory at 3200 MHz. We will provide a complete coverage of the device after the launch device. So, stay tuned.
