Realme V50 and V50s have been spotted with Dimensity 6100+

While all the attention goes toward Realme’s upcoming flagship with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the company is moving in the background to launch new entry-level devices. According to China Telecom, the brand is working on two new entry-level smartphones that have seemingly no differences apart from their names. The devices in question are named Realme V50 and V50s. The authority also confirmed the phone’s specifications, memory combination, and prices. The biggest difference is the model number.

Realme V50/V50s Bring Basic Specifications for the Budget Market

Apparently, the two identical phones are designated for different markets within China. The Realme V50 and V50s have the same MediaTek 6100+ chipset, which supports 5G connectivity. This chipset is a modest mid-range chip with 2 x ARM Cortex-A76 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz. It also has six ARM Cortex-A55 cores at up to 2 GHz. It’s a basic chipset for modest usage of basic apps and some casual gaming. Don’t expect it to run games with demanding graphics, you may need to adjust settings to play competitive games.

Other listed specifications include a USB Type-C port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, and a micro SD card slot for up to 256 GB storage. Realme aims to sell the handset for CNY 1,199 ($170/€155) for the 4 GB / 128 GB version, and CNY 1,499 ($210) for the variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of Storage. There is also a high-tier model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of Storage that sets you back by CNY 1,799 ($250).

There is still no information from Realme when it comes to the release date for these handsets. However, considering their appearance at China Telecom, we expect Realme to disclose details about the launch date soon. These devices are expected to compete with the likes of Redmi A2 and A2+.
