With less than two months between us and 2024, most smartphone brands are preparing for their next generation of smartphones. Samsung is no exception, and while the company prepares the ground for its upcoming flagships, it is also working on new smartphones for Galaxy A and M-series for the market in 2024. As usual, the Galaxy A lineup will start with the most basic devices. The company is gearing up to introduce the Galaxy A15 series and the first details are popping out. Today, the Samsung Galaxy A15 4G has been certified by Thailand’s NBTC certification (Source).
Samsung Galaxy A15 – A Comprehensive Description
The upcoming Galaxy A15 series will be Samsung’s next step in the low-end smartphone market with its Galaxy A-series. Every year, Samsung tries to raise the bar for its budget smartphones bringing compelling specifications. The next year won’t be an exception. Samsung plans to launch the Galaxy A15 4G and the Galaxy A15 5G. Both devices aim to bring the best specifications for an affordable price. The first details about these two devices are appearing ahead of the launch. Today, in this article, we will discuss the Galaxy A15 4G which passed the NBTC certification. We will also talk about the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G variant which had its specifications listed online.
Samsung Galaxy A15 4G listed on NBTC, 5G variant specs are available
The NBTC certification confirms the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A14 4G has the model number SM-A155F/DSN which also confirms the Dual-SIM capabilities. The listing does not go beyond in terms of specifications, but the phone had more of its details revealed by Geekbench. According to the benchmarking website, the Galaxy A15 4G variant will sport the MediaTek Helio G99 processor with 4 GB of RAM. The device will also run Android 14 straight out of the box with One UI 6 running atop.
Samsung Galaxy A15 5G specifications are also out
The details for the Galaxy A15 5G variant are out as well. The higher model will sport a 6.50-inch Full HD+ 90 Hz screen with a 5,000 mAh battery keeping the lights on. The phone will sport 25W charging which is basically the standard for Samsung phones. It will also sport a 13 MP camera on the front, and a 50 MP main camera at the back. The primary rear camera will be joined by 5 MP and 2 MP sensors. Presumably, these will be for macro shots and depth sensing. The Galaxy A15 5G will feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and come in blue and black color options. It will cost $149 in the US and around €250 in Europe.
The Galaxy A15 4G could employ the same technical specifications, having the chipset as the only difference. However, this is yet to be confirmed. Anyway, the phone will also make its appearance in multiple markets including Europe.
This launch shows that Samsung will, for another generation, split some of its devices between 4G and 5G variants. The goal is clear, having one variant with 4G, means the brand will be able to sell it at a lower price than the one with 5G. In any case, both devices should be relatively cheap in comparison to other Galaxy smartphones.
We expect Samsung to disclose more details about these devices soon.
