Redmi Book 14 and 16 (2024) Arrive with 13th Intel Core i5 CPUs and More


Xiaomi unveiled a plethora of new products including the Redmi K70 series, the Redmi Watch 4, and the Buds 5 Pro. The company also took the opportunity to update its Redmi Book series in China. Today, the company introduced the new Redmi Book 14 and Redmi Book 16 (2024) editions with a series of upgrades. They come with 16:10 Displays, 13th Gen Intel Core i5 CPUs, and much more. 13th Intel Core i5 To Ensure Performance For All Computing Needs

Both the Redmi Book 14 and Redmi Book 16 come with 16:10 displays with 100% sRGB color gamut and support for Dolby Vision. They have 14″ and 16″ Displays respectively with 120 Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, both are powered by the 3.5 GHz 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H Processor. It has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. The processor ensures enough performance for most of the current computing needs. It’s a powerful chipset that can be used even for lightweight games.

Both laptops run on Windows 11, but they also offer access to Xiaomi’s HyperOS intelligent connection. It allows for one-to-one interconnection of devices and multi-device support for a complete integration. Again, this is part of Xiaomi’s efforts to build a solid ecosystem under its new HyperOS.

Redmi Book 14 and 16 Specifications

In terms of unique specs, the Redmi 14 Brings a 14″ 2.8K display with 2,880 x 1,800 pixels with up to 300 nits of peak brightness. The display has Dolby Vision support, DC Dimming, and More. When it comes to the Redmi Book 16, it has a 16″ panel with 2.5K resolution 2,560 x 1,600 pixels. This one has a 120 Hz refresh rate and offers 400 nits of peak brightness. Of Course, it also has support for Dolby Vision.

Both laptops come with 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM with 512/1TB PCIe 4.0 SSDs for storage. Both run Windows 11 Home and feature a Backlight keyboard with 1.5mm keys and a Fingerprint scanner. There is a 1080 webcam in both units, and the 3.5 mm headphone jack is included. The devices also have integrated Quad Microphones, 2x 2W speakers, and Dolby Atmos Support.

In terms of connectivity, the Redmi Book 14 and 16 offer Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6E, 2 x 2 MIMO, 1 x Thunderbolt 4, 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen1, 1 x HDMI 2.1, 1 x USB 2.0, and NFC. The dimensions are 312.24 x 220.15 x 15.9 mm for the Redmi Book 14 which weighs 1.37kg. The Redmi Book 16 weighs more at 1.68kg and the dimensions are 355.2 x 248.5 x 15.9 mm.

The Redmi Book 14 has a 56Wh battery while the Book 16 features a 72Wh unit. Both arrive with a 100W GaN Fast-Charger.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Book 14 (2024) comes in Starlight Silver and Star Gray Color options. It starts at CNY 4,199 for the ($592) option with 16GB/512GB. The variant with 16GB/1TB costs about CNY 4,499 ($635). It is already on sale in China.

The Redmi Book 16 (2024) sells in the Star Gray Color with a Starting Price of CNY 4,399 ($621) for the 16GB/512GB model. The 16GB/1TB model costs CNY 4,699 ($663).  The Redmi Book 16 sales will begin on December 1st.
