The Pro model will offer a 2x portrait camera and an ultrawide lens while the vanilla K70 will instead offer a 2 MP AI Camera. Interestingly, the leaked image shows a large camera island for the design. It’s a major departure from the rectangle used in past Redmi K-series smartphones. The live images also show the display with minimal bezels.
The settings menu in the smartphones also confirms both will ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 1.0.1 based on Android 14 as well as 12 GB of RAM. Under the hood, the Redmi K70 Pro will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The vanilla Redmi K70 is running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Finally, the Redmi K70E will debut the recently-announced MediaTek Dimensity 8300 from MediaTek. We expect Xiaomi to disclose more details about them in the next few hours, during the release event. The three new smartphones will be interesting refreshes for the Redmi K-series and should bring some heat for the “flagship-killer” segment which comprises smartphones with flagship specs but that are more affordable than usual.
Besides the new Redmi K70 series, Xiaomi will also introduce the new Redmi Book 16 2024, the Redmi Watch 4 wearable, and the Redmi Buds 5 Pro TWS Earbuds.
