Which Xiaomi Devices Won’t Enjoy the Complete HyperOS Brilliance?

Xiaomi HyperOS

Xiaomi has unveiled its exciting HyperOS update, a stable release built on Android 14 for its top-of-the-line devices. Flagship phone owners worldwide can get ready for rollouts starting early next year, with the latest models receiving priority. However, there’s a twist: not all Xiaomi devices will unlock the full spectrum of HyperOS features.

Xiaomi has decided to tailor the update based on different Android versions. Some lucky phones will leapfrog directly to the Android 14-powered HyperOS, while others will receive a version customized for Android 13.

The selected devices set to experience the Android 14-based HyperOS include Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold 2, 12X, Mi 11X, 11i / Hypercharge, Pad 5, Mi 10S, Redmi K40, Note 11 Pro 5G, Note 11 Pro+ 5G, Note 11 NFC, Redmi Note 11S, Redmi 10 / Prime, Redmi 10C / 10 Power, Poco X3 GT, Poco X4 Pro, Poco M4 Pro 5G, Poco M4 Pro 4G, Poco F4, Poco F3, and Poco F3 GT. This strategic approach ensures that users of specific devices will receive an optimized HyperOS experience tailored to the capabilities of their device and the Android version it operates on.

Xiaomi HyperOS Global Rollout to Commence in 2024 Xiaomi HyperOS

Recently, Xiaomi initiated the rollout of HyperOS 1.0, a stable update built on the Android 14 version. This represents a significant leap forward in terms of software innovation, introducing a host of new features and optimizations. Although the initial glimpse of HyperOS has been limited to five specific Xiaomi models in China, the global rollout is set to take place in mid-2024, with an initial focus on the latest flagship devices.

However, not all Xiaomi devices will follow the same path to HyperOS excellence. Xiaomi has opted to split the update based on Android versions, with some devices receiving the Android 14-based HyperOS, and others settling for the Android 13 version. This division stems from the fact that certain HyperOS features necessitate the advanced capabilities introduced by Android 14.

The Android 13 Challenge Xiaomi HyperOS

If you have an older Xiaomi device, there’s good news. Xiaomi is planning to release an update for these devices called HyperOS, based on Android 13. This update is expected to happen around the second quarter of 2024. However, there’s something to keep in mind – if your device gets this version, it won’t have all the features that come with the complete HyperOS package.

Xiaomi fans are eagerly awaiting the HyperOS update. However, the split based on Android versions adds some complexity to the situation. “However, while certain devices will enjoy the full Android 14-based HyperOS experience, others will have to settle for a slightly scaled-down version. Despite the excitement surrounding the future of smartphone technology, not everyone will get to experience it in its entirety. Hopefully, Xiaomi continues to push boundaries, ensuring that future updates are inclusive, bringing innovation to all corners of their extensive user base.

Conclusion

Xiaomi’s HyperOS rollout ignites excitement, but a “version split” leaves some fans wanting more. Flagships snag Android 14-packed goodness, while older devices settle for an Android 13-infused flavor. Xiaomi’s ambition to innovate is lauded, but inclusivity in future updates remains the ultimate test. Will all corners of the Xiaomi kingdom taste the full HyperOS feast? The wait continues.
