The recently announced nubia Z60 Ultra is currently available for pre-orders in Europe and America. nubia is expected to start shipping the phones on December 29, but the device did reach some hands in China. And the team behind WekiHome is among them.
Right after getting the device, WekiHome decided to tear it apart to see what’s inside the camera flagship nubia Z60 Ultra. Among all the things, the teardown has revealed what’s with the oddly-shaped camera island on the back of the device. It also showcases the robust cooling system of the phone.
A Closer Look at the Internals of nubia Z60 Ultra
So, the team behind WekiHome didn’t need to do much to see the internals of the nubia Z60 Ultra. All that they needed to do was to get the back glass off. After it’s off, all the flagship internals of the smartphone are revealed. As the video attached below shows, pretty much all the components are tightly packed at the upper part of the phone.

This segment houses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the cameras, and other crucial parts of the nubia Z60 Ultra. Below this part lies the large 6000 mAh battery. And as the video shows, there’s no wireless charging coil. However, the engineers did put a lot of effort into optimizing the cooling solution of the smartphone.
Returning to the top portion of the device, the camera setup of the Z60 Ultra has to be the most interesting bit of the internals. All the sensors come with OIS, which is present even in the ultra-wide module. And this might be the reason why they are all so spread out. After all, the magnets and coils of the OIS may interfere with one another if they are too close.
Another interesting thing about the cameras of the nubia Z60 Ultra is that each comes with copper foils on the back. This helps to conduct heat away, making the sensors capable of operating for a prolonged time without issues.
