iQOO has officially unveiled the iQOO Neo9 Pro and the standard Neo9 in the Chinese market last week. The brand has also recently confirmed that the Pro variant will be stepping outside China with an Indian debut that’s scheduled next month.
However, it seems that the Indian iQOO Neo9 Pro won’t be the same as the Chinese version. According to the official promo page on Amazon India, the smartphone will come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 under the hood. However, the Chinese variant packed the more capable Dimensity 9300 SoC.
More About the iQOO Neo9 Pro and Its Indian Release Plans
If iQOO is debuting the Neo9 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, it means that the phone will basically be a rebranded version of the standard Neo9. For those who missed our past coverages, the base Neo9 is the one that came with the last-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. The Pro model has a modern Dimensity 9300 chipset.

Moreover, if the Indian Neo9 Pro is indeed the Chinese standard Neo9, some of its other specs will be different than the Chinese Neo9 Pro. For example, it will come with an 8 MP ultrawide camera on the back. The Chinese model had a 50 MP ultrawide sensor.
In addition, the phone will have Bluetooth 5.3 instead of the Bluetooth 5.4 found inside the Chinese iQOO Neo9 Pro. But the good part is that the standard Chinese version is still a good phone. That is, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 can still offer flagship-grade performance even though it’s a last-gen SoC.
In addition, the Indian Neo9 Pro will get the gaming optimizations that iQOO has integrated into the whole series. But this rebranded debut makes us wonder, what will the brand call the Chinese Neo 9 Pro when it releases the phone in India? Also, what about the base Indian model? Hopefully, these questions will be answered soon by iQOO. We will keep you in the loop, so stay tuned for more updates.
