Older Galaxy Phones To Get Some One UI 6.1 Camera Features

One UI 6.1 Galaxy

Samsung has announced the Galaxy S24 series yesterday. With this launch, the company has introduced a bunch of new features. Among them are some of the advanced camera features that are present in the new One UI 6.1.

Well, it’s not just the Galaxy S24 devices that will be enjoying all the new camera features of One UI 6.1. Samsung has just announced that it will be bringing a good number of them to older devices.

Better Single Take Mode

One of the One UI 6.1 camera features that the Galaxy S24 series brought is a better Single Take mode. It now allows the users to choose from four different zoom levels before taking the shot. The options include 10x, 5x, 3x, 1x, and ultrawide. Previously, you didn’t get any zoom options for this mode.

In addition, the Single Take mode on One UI 6.1 can offer more results, which includes pet recognition. This means you can get better videos and images of your pet cat or dog with this mode on. As mentioned earlier, it’s already present in the Galaxy S24 series. But Samsung is bringing it to the S23 lineup, S22 family, Z Flip 4 and later, Z Fold 4 and later, and Tab S9 lineup.

Better Long-exposure Shots With One UI 6.1

Samsung Galaxy S24 series has a new long-exposure feature. It lets you get a long-exposure edit on an image through the Gallery app’s edit functionality. Of course, it won’t work with all the images that you have in the gallery. Instead, you can only edit the images captured with the Motion Photo feature enabled.

This feature is very similar to the long-exposure function in the newer iPhones. When you capture images with Live Photos enabled, the camera functionality of the Apple phones suggests a long-exposure version. Of course, you can easily get a long-exposure shot with the Pro mode. But this One UI 6.1 feature makes it a bit easier.

The feature is available in the Galaxy S24 series. It will also be available on the phones mentioned earlier for the Single Take mode.

Shots from the Motion Photo Frames and Black-and-white Image Colorization

On the Galaxy S24 devices, you can select your desired frame from a Motion Photo shot. The phones then utilize AI upscaling to turn that frame into a 12 MP capture. Samsung hasn’t officially said which older models will be getting this feature. This suggests any devices running the One UI 6.1 will get it.

Colorizing black and white on One UI 6.1

In addition to that, One UI 6.1 also has a useful colorization function. It analyzes the black-and-white images and allows you to add estimated colors to them. Samsung hasn’t specifically said which old devices will be getting this feature.

Video Editing and HDR Video Support

With One UI 6.1, Samsung now allows users to start editing videos on Samsung devices running the Studio editing app and finish them in another. For example, you can finalize the edit on your PC or tablet. However, Samsung hasn’t specified which older devices will get the feature.

Lastly, Samsung now allows users to view HDR video shots on social media apps. This feature is expected to come to the Galaxy Z Flip 5, Z Fold 5, and the S23 range.
