Samsung has held a big launch event on January 17. It’s the first Samsung Unpacked event of the year, which unrolled the curtains on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series. While the lineup brings many upgrades over the predecessors, there’s one big hardware change. The standard and plus models of the series will be sold with an Exynos 2400 chipset.
In contrast, the entire Galaxy S23 range had Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC in all the regions. The thing with Exynos chipsets is that they don’t really have a clean reputation. Users of the past models with Samsung-made chipsets had many issues. These range from performance to overheating. So, potential buyers of the new Galaxy S24 devices from selected regions are concerned about the Exynos 2400.
Well, it seems like Samsung may have figured things out with the Exynos 2400. The new Samsung-made SoC for the Galaxy S24 lineup has showcased good performance in Genshin Impact. For those unaware, Genshin Impact is a game that’s very demanding on hardware. So, it’s considered a gaming benchmark for flagship devices. The device also did pretty well in other AAA mobile games.
Exynos 2400 Offers Similar Gaming Performance to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
The standard Galaxy S24 and the Plus variant with the Exynos 2400 held up pretty well in an intensive gaming test. As you can see from the video attached below, it basically goes neck and neck with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in most of the titles. Specifically, the performance of the chipset is respectable in Genshin Impact.
But it’s not just the FPS that’s the highlight of this extreme gaming test. As mentioned earlier, past Exynos chipsets were notorious for throttling and overheating. Thankfully, we can’t see the same for the chipset inside the Galaxy S24 series.

However, there’s one thing to note from the gaming test video attached above. If you look a bit closely, the Exynos 2400 appears to be rendering texture in Genshin Impact a bit low. But this could be because the game is not fully optimized for the hardware. So, we would need to wait for a while to come to a full conclusion.
