WhatsApp is working on a new feature that allows users to share files with contacts who are nearby. The most recent beta version (2.24.2.17) of WhatsApp on Android has a feature that allows file transfers via Bluetooth. Recently, Google and Samsung improved Nearby Share, the built-in file-sharing feature on Android, and renamed it Quick Share. This new capability will facilitate file sharing across Android phones and Windows and Chrome OS PCs. Compared to more conventional techniques like transferring files over chat or utilising cloud storage, it provides a faster and more practical solution by enabling users to exchange files up to 2GB in size.
Both users must be in the app’s “People Nearby” area and remain there for the transfer to be successful, according to WABetaInfo. End-to-end encryption will ensure that file sharing is as safe as it is with WhatsApp’s default setup. It’s interesting to note that users must shake their phones to begin sharing. End-to-end encryption ensures the safety and security of the file transfer by managing it effectively for privacy. The encryption conceals and keeps inaccessible phone numbers from being transferred to those not on the contact list.

WhatsApp Nearby File Sharing
Regular WhatsApp users will find this new function useful. However, given Google and Samsung’s recent Quick Share upgrade, it appears to be a little unnecessary. On the other hand, WhatsApp’s functionality may be revolutionary if it functions on both iOS and Android. If not, there may still be superior built-in solutions on other systems. The file-sharing function of WhatsApp is reportedly being developed and may become available in the upcoming version of the app; however, it is not yet known if or when it will be made available on the stable version of the program.
