Apple has been changing the mobile gaming field since the iPhone 15 series launch. Last year, CAPCOM launched Resident Evil Village for the iPhone. Now, it’s time for the popular Death Stranding Director’s Cut for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac to arrive. The port was announced alongside the iPhone 15 series in September 2023 and originally scheduled for release by the year-end. After a small delay, the Kojima Studios confirmed the game’s release for iPhones, Macs, and iPads in the next week, January 30.
Death Stranding – The Mobile Port will reach Apple Devices on January 30
According to new information, Death Stranding Director’s Cut will reach the iPhone, iPad, and Mac on January 30. Early-bird buyers can pre-order the game for $24, taking advantage of a special offer. Upon launch, the game will be priced at approximately $39.99. For that amount, you’ll get the post-apocalyptical game that features Norman Reedus and many other popular faces like Mads Mikkelsen and Guillermo Del Toro.
Hardware and Software Requirements
An intriguing aspect of this release is its universal purchase feature. In other words, if you buy it on the iPhone, you will be able to play it on any other supported Apple device, like a MacBook, for example. It is worth noting that the game can be played on devices with the Apple A17 Pro chipset or higher. Among Apple iPhones, only the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max offer the capability to run the game. iPad and Mac users need a minimum requirement of an Apple M1 chipset to run the game.
The software requirement is iOS 17 or higher for iPhone and iPad. Mac devices need to be running macOS 12 or later to support the game. App Store lists the download side of 69.8 GB. It’s a heavy game for mobile standards, however, it’s not a surprise. The game has stunning graphics for both the characters and environments.
Gizchina News of the week
More AAA Games Coming for Apple Devices
Death Stranding is the latest AAA title to land on Apple devices. and further strengthens the company’s strategy to bring AAA games to its devices. The company surprised Apple fans with the announcement of AAA games, which in Apple’s vision, represents the next step for mobile gaming. The next AAA game coming to iPhone will be “Assassin’s Creed Mirage”. However, there is still no official word from Ubisoft on when the launch will happen. AC Mirage reached consoles and PCs in October last year. So we’re not surprised to see a mobile port taking a little longer.
This certainly is just the start of the road for the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. We expect more Triple-A games to be announced for these devices shortly. Interestingly, this will be a field that Apple will rule alone as there is still no response from Android OEMs.
