Samsung Galaxy S24 series has had a successful launch event. As the successors of the S23 lineup, the new phones bring a good number of hardware upgrades. For example, there’s the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy and brighter screens.

In addition, Samsung has gone all-in on software. The new phones bring a lot of AI wizardries, which aim to improve your experience with the phone. Among them are the AI algorithms that make the portrait shots taken by the Galaxy S24 phones more natural.

Samsung Shares How the Galaxy S24 Can Offer More Natural Portrait Photos

On the official Community Forum website, Samsung has shared details on how the Galaxy S24 series takes better portrait shots. According to the company, the new smartphones utilize improved AI algorithms. Paired with better processing power, they can properly detect the subjects within the photos and create a better depth effect.

The Galaxy S24 phones also apply a blur effect on the objects that are in front of the main subject. This additional blur effect makes the portrait shots look like they were captured with a DSLR camera. Previous algorithms only applied this blur effect to the objects that were behind the subject.
