Epic Games Store Confirmed to Launch for iOS in EU Later This Year

Epic Games Store

If you can remember, Apple removed Fortnite from the App Store back in 2020. Apple saw the title as breaking the App Store policies by letting users purchase in-game items directly instead of through Apple’s payment system. Well, Epic Games, the publisher and developer of the video, is making a comeback.

As Apple has recently announced, there will be some big changes to the app distribution of the iOS App Store. This will enable iPhone users in the EU to get access to different app stores other than Apple’s own. One of them will be the Epic Games Store.

More About Epic Games Store on Apple iOS and App Distribution Changes in the EU

It should be noted that the changes for the app distribution in iOS are only limited to the 27 EU member states. Users within the regions will get access to the Epic Games Store later this year. This also means that Fortnite will be coming back to the Apple devices again.

These new changes fall under the Digital Markets Act (DMA) of the EU. But it’s not just the Epic Games Store that will be enjoying these changes in the EU. These changes also mean that Apple users in the regions will also get access to game-streaming apps.
