Realme will soon take an important step into the mid-range market with its Realme 12 series launch. The new smartphones will come to compete with the Redmi Note 13 series in the super-competitive segment, and for this year, Realme is bringing a set of interesting specifications. The Realme 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ will be great devices in the camera department, with the Pro+ set to come with the Sony IMX890 main camera. Today, the Realme 12 Pro variant was confirmed to bring the all-new Sony IMX882 sensor. The same teaser also confirms the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 at the helm.

Sony has yet to fully disclose the camera, but the Realme 12 Pro will likely be the first smartphone to come with it. According to insider info, this Sony IMX882 is rumored to be a rebranded version of the Sony LYT-600, which is seen in the Oppo Reno 11 5G and the Vivo S18e smartphones.

According to the teaser on X, the Realme 12 Pro camera marks a big upgrade for the photography experience on this smartphone series. The handset will come with a 50 MP shooter, the images show it in the Cream Gold version. Looking at the images and renders, the non-Plus smartphone will not have a periscope lens. The device has a circular camera island with four holes aligned in a square. However, out of the four only three are equipped with actual cameras. The fourth is there just to keep the design language. The Realme 12 Pro will come with 20x zoom, which is way below the 120x zoom on the 12 Pro+. Anyway, this zoom capability suggests the phone will come with a telephoto lens.
In terms of performance, the Realme 12 Pro comes with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. It’s an octa-core processor with the 4nm process technology. The chipset comes with 4 x ARM Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.2 GHz. There are also efficiency 4 x ARM Cortex-A55 cores with 1.8 GHz clock speed. It has the Adreno 710 GPU which ensures decent performance in gaming. With this processor, users will experience a decent performance for overall app usage. Furthermore, games will run pretty well depending on the graphics settings.
