Open-ear earbuds are getting increasingly popular, and there’s a good reason behind it. From my experience with the OneOdio OpenRock S, a pair of open-ear earbuds, I noticed that these buds are more comfortable for prolonged listening. But it goes without saying that the recently launched Baseus AirGo AS01 earbuds surely have an interesting design.
The design of the Baseus AirGo AS01 isn’t new, though. We’ve seen something very similar with the Huawei FreeClip earbuds. But Huawei’s offering is on the expensive side, with the launch price being 199 EUR or $199, depending on the region you pick them up from. On the other hand, Baseus launched the new buds with a price of CNY 129, which is roughly $18.
More About the Baseus AirGo AS01
While the AirGo AS01 is a pair of cheap open-ear earbuds, the company has done many things right. For example, the open-ear design is properly executed, allowing the users to enjoy better comfort and environmental awareness. Also, the ear clips are adjustable, allowing you to get a secure fit.

The sound department looks promising too. These buds come with 10 mm dynamic audio drivers, which should result in detailed audio output. There’s even directional sound transmission tech, allowing the Baseus AirGo AS01 to direct the audio directly to your ears. I experienced a similar tech with the OpenRock S and found it to be very effective in lowering audio leaks.
Besides, Baseus didn’t skimp on the wireless connectivity of the AirGo AS01. The buds feature Bluetooth 5.3, which is one of the latest Bluetooth standards. As for the battery life, the wireless earbuds can offer up to 25 hours of runtime after a full charging session.
Other than that, with a dual-mic setup and ENC, the Baseus AirGo AS01 aims to deliver crisp and clear calling performance.
