Realme has recently launched the 12 Pro and 12 Pro+ smartphones, both of which are upper mid-range phones. Now, the company is expanding the lineup by announcing the non-Pro Realme 12+ 5G. The smartphone is confirmed to launch on March 6 in India, and it’s also about to launch on the Malaysian market soon.
Even though it’s a non-Pro device, the Realme 12+ 5G shares some design aspects of its Pro siblings. And for those who missed our coverage on those smartphones, they came with an elegant, luxury watch-like design on the back. We see something similar for the non-Pro model.
Main Highlights of the Realme 12+ 5G
With the latest announcement, Realme confirmed that the smartphone will come with the Sony LYT600 50 MP sensor. It will be one of the three cameras on the back. With OIS, the sensor will make the Realme 12+ capable of capturing detail-rich and steady images and videos. The sensor can also offer 2x in-sensor zoom, allowing the smartphone to take crisp close-up shots.
Gizchina News of the week
According to the company, the Realme 12+ has the “first custom dynamic portrait capture system.” This optimizes the capture speed, offering high-speed continuous captures of up to 208 images per minute. Basically, even though the smartphone is not a “Pro” variant, its camera system is Pro-grade.
As for the other specs of Realme 12+, according to a Malaysian retailer listing (link), the phone will feature a Dimensity 7050 SoC. This is a mid-range SoC, but the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 found inside the Realme 12 Pro+ is more capable. However, you need to note that the upcoming device is expected to be cheaper than the Pro+ model.
Other than that, the listing pointed out that Realme 12+ will come with a 120 Hz FHD+ AMOLED screen, 5000 mAh battery, and 67W fast charging.
