Foldable phones are not a new thing anymore. We have a rather large number of players in the category now. That includes Samsung, Motorola, OnePlus, Vivo, Tecno, Oppo, and most recently, nubia. While nubia might be late to the party, its first folding smartphone, the nubia Flip 5G, has something compelling.

Before you ask, no, it’s not the hardware. Instead, it’s the price! nubia Flip 5G made its debut with a starting price tag of $599. Of course, you may think of the Tecno Phantom V Flip after heating that price. Well, its launch price was close, which is INR49,999 (around $603).

The nubia Flip 5G isn’t actually a brand-new device. Instead, it’s the global version of the ZTE Libero Flip that launched in Japan a few days ago. All the specs are the same, which means the Flip 5G comes with the same Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 found inside the smartphone launched in Japan.

That is a mid-range SoC, which makes sense considering the affordable price tag that the Flip 5G comes with. On the front, the Flip 5G comes with the same 6.9-inch OLED display as the Libero Flip. It has 1188 x 2790 pixels in resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.

Selfie camera

As for the external display, it’s a 1.43-inch circular panel that features a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels. This secondary screen of nubia Flip 5G offers a lot of convenient features. That includes offering media playback controls, letting you take selfies with the back camera, and taking calls.

Speaking of cameras, the back has a two-camera setup that features a 50 MP primary sensor. And on the front, the nubia Flip 5G has a 16 MP selfie camera. Other highlights of the device include a dual-rail suspended hinge. nubia says that it can withstand more than 200 thousand unfolds.
