We’ve had a good number of Realme 12 series phone releases in the past few months. First, the company released the 12 Pro and Pro+; then, we saw the launch of the 12+. Now, the brand has introduced the standard or base model of the series.
While it’s the entry-level device of the Realme 12 series, it’s not an entry-level phone. Instead, it’s more of a mid-range device that can handle your day-to-day needs. Besides processing power, there are some good aspects that make it offer great value for the money.
Main Highlights of Realme 12
One of the main highlights of the Realme 12 is the Dimensity 6100+ SoC. It’s a mid-range processor that brings two fast ARM Cortex A76 cores and six efficient Cortex A55 cores. Paired with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, the phone is more than capable of running regular games and doing some moderate gaming.

In terms of storage, the Realme 12 comes with 128 GB of onboard storage that’s expandable with the microSD card slot. The camera setup of the smartphone is pretty capable too. It comes with the Samsung ISOCELL HM6 sensor on the back, which is a 108 MP camera that can offer 3x in-sensor zoom. The camera is paired with a 2 MP depth sensor that helps with portrait shots.
On the front, the Realme 12 comes with a 6.72-inch screen that offers FHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel can also offer 950 nits of peak brightness, enough for comfortable outdoor viewing. As for the front camera, there’s an 8 MP selfie shooter housed inside a centered punch-hole cutout.
Another highlight of the Realme 12 is the dynamic button. As you can see from the picture below, it can switch between seven functions and doubles as a fingerprint scanner. Other notable aspects include Realme UI 5, 5000 mAh battery, and 45W charging. The starting price is INR 16,999, which is around $205, and there are two colors available.
