For those unaware, 10th March is a pretty relevant day for Mario fans. It’s the Mar10 Day (Mario Day) for all Nintendo fans across the world. As usual, Nintendo comes with many relevant announcements for fans of the famous plumber. That said, the company took that special date to include the release date for two upcoming Mario remasters. The games in question are Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD. The company also took the opportunity to confirm that the second Super Mario Bros. Movie is on the way. As for the games, Paper Mario will be released on 23rd May 2024, and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD Remaster will come on 27th June 2024.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is the second RPG in the franchise. The game was originally released for the Nintendo GameCube. In this game, our iconic hero needs to go through a long journey seeking the legendary Thousand-Year Door. Through the adventure, he will face multiple threats. Will face familiar enemies, but will also get the aid of iconic friends from games.

Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD is a new edition of the Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is original from the Nintendo 3DS. Interestingly, it’s also the second game in the Luigi’s Mansion franchise. As usual, in this game, Luigi needs to hunt ghosts in haunted mansions. In the adventure, he will collect pieces of the Dark Moon.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie Sequel Has a Launch Date Confirmed
When it comes to the sequel to the popular Super Mario Bros. Movie, we also got the launch date. The iconic character creator Shigeru Miyamoto announced that the sequel will “broaden the world” further and be released on 3rd April 2026.
“I’m thrilled to be here alongside Miyamoto-san to officially announce our return to the Super Mario Bros,” added Illumination’s Chris Meledandri. “Our directors, Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic, and the very talented artists from Illumination Studios Paris – who brought the Mushroom Kingdom to life in The Super Mario Bros. Movie – have been busy at work, storyboarding scenes and developing set designs for new environments.”We start animation soon and rest assured, we’ll be obsessing over every detail to get it just right.”
