Motorola is stepping up its affordable smartphone game. It has released two new phones. Among them is the 2024 Motorola Moto G, which is a proper successor to the 2024 model. It’s also the first smartphone from the company to use the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset.
As for the price, it’s very much in the affordable range. The unlocked version will be available from May 2 with a price tag of $200. At this price, the main competitor to the 2024 Motorola Moto G is the Redmi Note 13 4G, which may just be a better purchase if it’s available in your region.
Main Highlights of the 2024 Motorola Moto G
As mentioned earlier, the 2024 Motorola Moto G features the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1, which is a solid upgrade from the Snapdragon 480+ found in the 2023 model. That means the newer phone will perform better in day-to-day apps. However, the smartphone still has 4 GB of RAM, which is a bummer.

On the bright side, the 2024 Motorola Moto G offers 4 GB of virtual RAM. As for the storage, the phone features 128 GB, which you can expand with a microSD card slot. On the front, the 2024 model comes with the same display as the 2023 model. That means it comes with a 6.6-inch LCD that features an HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate.
The phone hasn’t seen any change in the camera department either. It has the same 50 MP primary sensor on the back that’s paired with a dedicated macro camera. On the front, it has an 8 MP selfie shooter that has become pretty standard for these budget-friendly phones.
As for the battery, the 2024 Moto G has a 5,000 mAh cell that can charge at 18 watts. While last year’s model had the same battery capacity, it could charge at 15 watts.
