Qualcomm has just introduced the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 promising improvements and AI integration. It’s the latest improvement for Qualcomm’s flagship chipset series. The new flagship SoC is expected to come in a multitude of new premium smartphones. Qualcomm confirmed Honor, iQOO, Realme, Redmi, and Xiaomi will be the first OEMs to adopt the new chip in their smartphones.
At its China event, Qualcomm confirmed the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 will offer 20% faster CPU performance and 15% more energy efficiency than the previous generations. Right after the event, the first OEMs started to confirm they have smartphones with the new chipset to be revealed soon.
Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro and new Redmi Smartphone
Xiaomi confirmed it has worked with Qualcomm for the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro. The device will come with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. It’s a major upgrade for the series since the Xiaomi Civi 3 had the Dimensity 8200 Ultra which is an intermediary chipset.

The second device from Xiaomi with this chipset will be a new Redmi series phone. It’s not the Redmi Note 13 Turbo as rumored earlier. The company said that it will be used in mid-range for the first time. It will reshape the mid-range performance landscape. We are curious to see which mid-range phone will be that, but it has been a while since we saw a Redmi mid-range phone sporting a Snapdragon 8 / 800 series chipset.
iQOO Z9 series and Realme GT Neo6
Besides Xiaomi, iQOO also decided to spill the beans and confirm its iQOO Z9 series. It will be among the first devices with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. The first Z9 series phone with this chipset is expected to come in April. The rumors suggest it will arrive as iQOO Z9 Turbo. Realme is also rumored to launch its Realme GT Neo6 with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3.
Honor is also among the companies mentioned by Qualcomm. The brand is yet to confirm which device will feature the new chipset.
