Qualcomm has just announced the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. As we’ve already covered, the new SoC is a step below the standard 8 Gen 3. It’s mainly for affordable flagship-grade phones. With this announcement, we’ve also started to see phone makers announcing their new phones with the chipset. One of them is the Motorola Edge 50 Pro.
The phone will be making its debut in the Indian market on 3rd of April. Thanks to the official promo page on Flipkart, which is an Indian online store, we learned about a good number of features early on. From what it seems like, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro could indeed be a flagship killer if it’s priced right.
Some of the Confirmed Specs of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro
So, the first spec that’s confirmed about the Edge 50 Pro is the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3. As Qualcomm promises, the SoC can deliver nearly the same level of performance as the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The promo page revealed that the phone comes with a 1.5K pOLED display. This panel features a 144 Hz refresh rate, which should result in fluid visuals.

Moreover, the display of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro comes with Pantone validation. This means it can deliver rich visuals. Paired with HDR10+, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 2000 nits of peak brightness, the panel stands as a true flagship. But it’s not just the display that got Pantone validation.
The camera setup of the Edge 50 Pro is also validated by Pantone. This means the captures will feature better color accuracy, which will eliminate the need to do post-capture touchups. While Motorola hasn’t shared much about the camera of the smartphone, the official images show a triple-camera setup on the back.
However, we learned that the primary sensor will be a 50 MP shooter with AI enhancements. The last detail that the official Flipkart page revealed is the color options. As you can see from the picture below, the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will be available in Black, Purple, and White.
