The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is one of the next mid-range smartphones Samsung has in tow for release. The company is upgrading its lineup month by month and the Samsung Galaxy M55 5G is due for release pretty soon. While we wait for an official release date, the specifications keep popping out from the shadows. Today, an extensive leak comes to reveal some of the phone’s key specifications. According to them, the Galaxy M55 5G is more than a Galaxy A55 rebranding.
Samsung Galaxy M55 5G Specifications Leak
The Samsung Galaxy M55 5G will be equipped with a 6.7-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz Super AMOLED+ screen with thin bezels and a 1,000-nit peak refresh rate. The leaked images reveal the smartphone with a centered punch-hole cutout for the 50 MP selfie camera. Moving around to the back, the device adopts the raindrop camera design. The device has a 50 MP main camera with Optical Image Stabilization. It also has an 8 MP ultrawide camera and a 2 MP macro shooter.

Under the hood, the phone has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC with up to 12 GB of RAM. The phone will come with either 128 GB or 256 GB of Internal Storage. It will be expandable via a microSD card up to 1 TB. The phone will also feature an under-display fingerprint scanner, which is something not commonly available in mid-range phones.
The Samsung Galaxy M55 will run Android 14 with One UI 6.0 straight out of the box. As per the leak, Samsung will offer it with a promise of five major Android updates and five years of security updates. Again, this is a lot for a mid-range smartphone. The phone will, of course, come with dual-SIM functionality, Bluetooth 5.2, Dual-Band Wi-Fi, and NFC. Finally, the phone will come with a huge 5,000 mAh battery with 45W fast charging. The charging speed here is the fastest offered by Samsung and usually is available only in the company’s highest flagships like those in the Ultra series. So this is a first for the Galaxy M-series.
Unlike previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy M55 is far from a rebranded Galaxy A55. The smartphone has a bigger screen, a different chipset, and lower-resolution ultrawide and macro cameras. It has a higher-resolution selfie camera and comes with support for faster charging. The phone will sell in Light Green and Black color options, but Samsung will likely pick fancier names for them.
Right now, we need to wait for Samsung’s official release date for the smartphone. We expect more details to pop out in the future.
