This is another re-release that keeps the essence of the original. It has the same 10.4-inch LCD screen with 2,000 x 1,200 pixels of resolution and 15:9 aspect ratio. The tablet supports S Pen and comes with a huge 7,040 mAh battery. The real upgrade is in the chipset, however, Samsung does not explicitly say which one is powering the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024). It lists an octa-core processor with 2.4 GHz and 2.0 GHz cores. The 2022 model had the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G or 720G depending on the market with 2.3 GHz and 1.8 GHz cores. According to unofficial info, the 2024 edition comes with the Exynos 1280 chipset. The base RAM and storage capacities are still 4 GB and 64 GB. The device has a micro SD card slot for extra storage if needed. There will also be a variant with 128 GB of Storage. However, it is not up on Samsung.com just yet
Gizchina News of the week
The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite (2024) runs Android 14 straight out of the box with One UI 6.1. Interestingly, the 2022 model came with Android 12 and One UI 4.0 and was updated to One UI 6.0 with Android 14.
We’ve been seeing tablets with bigger batteries recently, but Samsung is keen that the 7,040 mAh unit will still do good in 2024. It promises up to 14 hours of video playback and 12/13 hours of web browsing. There is no word on the charging speed. However, we know that Samsung is very conservative in this regard. Most of its mid-range devices are limited to 25W charging. Both previous Tab S6 Lite models had just 15W, so we assume this is the case here as well.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is available in Mint and Gray colors, only in the 4GB/64GB variant. Neither the Wi-Fi nor the LTE version have prices listed for now. We will wait some days to see if Samsung will spill the beans and reveal the device in more regions.
