Dimensity 9300 Loses Its Lead Against Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in AnTuTu Flagship Ranking of March 2024

Ever since the launch of the Oppo Find X7, MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300 has been topping the AnTuTu flagship charts. The SoC has been holding the first position for the last few months. But in the AnTuTu flagship ranking of March 2024, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 finally pulled ahead.

To be specific, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Pro, with the flagship Snapdragon chipset, has finally beat the Oppo Find X7. Yes, the difference between the first and second phones isn’t significant. But it’s the first time in three months that a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-equipped phone has made it to the first place. In the previous AnTuTu flagship lists, it’s the Dimensity 9300 that has dominated over the others.

But Benchmark Scores Aren’t Everything

AnTuTu benchmark scores give you a good idea of how powerful the hardware is inside. But it’s just one of the many metrics that you should consider when purchasing a phone. Alongside a high score, a well-performing phone should also perform well in day-to-day tasks. That includes running regular apps smoothly, taking good photos, and managing calls.

In addition, you should also see if the battery life of the smartphone is reliable or not. A phone can be first in AnTuTu’s flagship ranking, but it may not even last for three hours. Among other important aspects to consider are build quality, display, speakers, and price point. But, yes, AnTuTu’s performance score does stand as a good starting point to find your next phone. So, don’t entirely neglect it.
