Samsung’s Photo Editor App Gets an Advanced Object Eraser Feature

One UI 6.1

Samsung has introduced advanced photo editing features to its built-in Photo Editor app with the recent One UI 6.1 update. These improvements, powered by Samsung’s Galaxy AI technology, empower users to achieve more precise and creative edits directly on their smartphones.

Samsung Enhances Photo Editing Capabilities with One UI 6.1 Update

One of the highlights is the enhanced Generative Edit function. This AI-powered tool allows users to modify specific objects within a designated area. By drawing a circle around the target object, users can leverage Galaxy AI to adjust its appearance or even remove it entirely. The latest update reportedly refines this functionality, offering greater accuracy and control over the editing process.

Another valuable addition is the Magnetic Lasso tool. This feature streamlines object selection, a common pain point in photo editing. With Magnetic Lasso enabled, the user’s drawn selection line automatically snaps to the edges of objects in the image. This significantly improves precision, especially when isolating intricate shapes or objects with complex backgrounds.

To utilize the Magnetic Lasso tool, users simply need to open the desired photo in the Gallery app, navigate to “Edit,” and select “Objects” under the Tools menu. The Magnetic Lasso icon will be located in the top-right corner, and it remains active by default. Users can tap the icon to toggle the feature on or off depending on their editing needs.

It’s important to note that this update is currently not available through the official Galaxy Store. Users with compatible devices running One UI 6.1 can access the latest version (v3.4.21.41) of the Photo Editor app through third-party app stores. This rollout strategy suggests the update might be undergoing further testing before wider public release.
