Ā Samsung quietly launched the Galaxy C55 in China, targeting the mid-range smartphone segment. This new device shares many similarities with the previously released Galaxy M55, but with a distinct aesthetic twist. The C55 boasts a premium look thanks to its leather back panels available in two color options: “Colorful Orange” and “Fashion Black.”
Samsung Unveils New Mid-Range Galaxy C55 in China
The core specifications of the Galaxy C55 remain consistent with the M55. It features a large 6.7-inch OLED display with FHD+ resolution, offering a crisp and immersive viewing experience. Powering the device is the reliable Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor, ensuring smooth performance for everyday tasks and multitasking.

One of the highlights of the C55 is its camera system. The 50-megapixel main sensor promises high-quality photos, while the 8-megapixel ultrawide lens allows users to capture expansive landscapes and group shots. However, the inclusion of a 5-megapixel macro lens feels like a missed opportunity. Considering some competitors in this segment offer higher resolution options. On the front, a 50-megapixel selfie camera caters to the growing demand for high-resolution video calls and selfies.
The C55 packs a generous 5,000mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting usage throughout the day. Furthermore, it boasts 45W fast charging, the fastest wired charging speed currently available within Samsung’s mid-range portfolio. This puts it on par with the flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra and surpasses the charging capabilities of the standard S24.
Storage options for the Galaxy C55 are limited to 256GB, catering to users who require ample space for apps, photos, and videos. RAM options come in 8GB and 12GB, priced at CNY1,999 (approximately $275) and CNY2,299 (approximately $320) respectively. At launch, the C55 is available for purchase exclusively through physical Samsung Experience Stores in China. It remains to be seen if Samsung plans to expand its availability to other regions or online retailers in the future.
