Google Pixel Tablet has had a good run. It is nearly a year old now, and as Google prepares for the next Pixel 9 lineup, we should also be seeing a new tablet launch. However, it seems that the company won’t be launching the successor of its first Android tablet under the Pixel brand.
Instead, it will likely be a Pixel Tablet refresh without the bundled charging dock that the company offered with the first one. Of course, we did have key information about the upcoming device surface. The company is working on two tablets, to be exact. They have codenames ‘Clementine’ and ‘Kiyomi.’ Reports are now suggesting that the one that’s ready for the soon-to-be-held Google I/O event isn’t a successor.
The Next Google Pixel Tablet Could Be A Refresh With Tensor G3
It’s clear that Google is readying up to launch the Pixel 9 series. This lineup of smartphones will feature the Tensor G4, which will be a step up from the already available Tensor G3. However, it’s unlikely that the next Pixel Tablet will come with the new chipset.

Instead, the next Google Pixel Tablet will feature the same SoC as the Pixel 8a, which will also be released in the upcoming Google I/O event. This information matches with the last I/O event, in which Google introduced its first Android tablet under the Pixel brand and the Pixel 7a. And both of them had the same SoC.
Reportedly, Google plans to offer the refreshed Pixel Tablet without the charging dock in the package (source). Of course, that wouldn’t be a big deal, as you can purchase the charging dock separately. But if that’s the case, it could be affordable. Still, all of these are speculations, and nothing is confirmed until Google announces the details of the Android tablet.
