The much-teased iQOO Z9 Turbo has finally been fully unveiled in China. It rivals the recently launched Redmi Turbo 3 with the same starting price, which is CNY 1,999 (about $276). The phone even has the same SoC as the Redmi phone, making it a direct competitor.
Of course, there are a couple of differences between the two. For example, the iQOO Z9 Turbo comes with a slightly better screen and a larger battery. Nonetheless, both devices currently stand as solid options for anyone looking for an affordable flagship phone.
Main Highlights of the iQOO Z9 Turbo
Under the hood, the iQOO Z9 Turbo features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the same SoC as the Redmi Turbo 3. It’s Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC that’s designed for affordable powerhouses. While it isn’t as powerful as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the SoC is a step up from the last-gen Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

iQOO has paired this flagship processor with a dedicated gaming chipset. This combination aims to deliver a smooth gaming. The phone even has a large vapor-cooling chamber to keep the SoC cool under heavy loads. Also, iQOO Z9 Turbo has up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 storage. Both are more than enough for gaming and heavy workloads.
Camera-wise, the Z9 Turbo features the 50 MP Sony LYT-600 sensor on the back. It’s paired with an 8 MP ultrawide sensor, making the setup pretty versatile. On the front, there’s a 16 MP selfie camera, which is housed in a centered punch hole of the display. Speaking of the display, it’s a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 144 Hz refresh rate, which will result in smooth visuals.
