In early 2024, Vivo launched the budget-oriented Vivo G2 smartphone in China. This phone wasn’t initially launched in the global market. However, recent developments suggest a possible rebranding. Here’s what we know so far.
Vivo Y36s was spotted on the Google Play Console website (via TheTechOutlook). The listing states that the Y36s phone has the model number PD2318. Additionally, it unveils further details such as the presence of a Dimensity MT6833 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM. Moreover, the listing reveals Android 13 OS and a display resolution of 720×1612 pixels.
Vivo Y36s Specifications: It will be a budget-friendly phone
Since the Vivo G2 has the same model number (PD2318) and similar specifications, we anticipate the Vivo Y36s could be a rebranded version. If so, the phone will likely feature a dual camera cut-out on the rear in a square module and a tear-drop notch on the front.
Gizchina News of the week
When considering the specifications based on the Vivo G2, the Vivo Y36s will feature a 6.56-inch display with a resolution of 1612 x 720 pixels. It will have a high refresh rate of 90Hz. In the camera department, it will have a dual camera setup with a 13MP primary shooter. On the front, there will be a 5MP selfie shooter.
In the performance department, we expect the Dimensity 6020 chipset to be powering the phone with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS2.2 storage. Lastly, users can expect an impressive 5000mAh battery with support for 15W wired charging. The main highlight of the Vivo G2 was its long battery life and 256GB internal storage. It’s possible the Vivo Y36s will follow suit with a focus on battery and high storage. While the Google Play Console listing suggests Android 13, it would be great to see Vivo launch this device with the latest Android 14 out of the box. That said, the Google Play Console appearance suggests an official announcement for this smartphone could be coming soon.
