Vivo has officially unveiled the X100s series, comprising of the X100s and X100s. As you can guess, these two are the upgraded versions of the non-S X100 phones that the brand released last year.
One of the main highlights of the two Vivo X100s phones is the Dimensity 9300+. It’s the newest flagship SoC from MediaTek. To compare, the original X100 series launched with the Dimensity 9300. The Plus version of the SoC brings improved CPU and APU performance. But it’s not just the powerful processor that makes the two new phones proper flagships.
More About the Vivo X100s Series
The Vivo X100s Pro pairs the Dimensity 9300+ SoC with the in-house Vivo V3 image processing chipset. This is one of the things that sets it apart from the regular X100s, as that phone has the Vivo V2 image chip.
Besides, the X100s Pro has a bit thicker and heavier build. It measures 8.91 mm in thickness and weighs 224 grams. But the bigger build is complemented with a large 5100 mAh battery. It utilizes a second-gen battery tech and can charge at 100 watts.
As for the Vivo X100s, it is thinner than the X100s Pro. It measures 7.8 mm in terms of thickness but has the same weight as the Pro version. What’s more interesting is that both the new smartphones come with an IP69 rating. That means they can withstand high-temperature water jets.
Gizchina News of the week
The rest of the specs for the Vivo X100s lineup are the same as the X100 series. That includes a 6.78-inch LTPO screen that has a peak brightness of 300 nits, 10-bit color support, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Worth noting that the regular X100s have a flat display, while the Pro has a curved screen.
Cameras, Price, and Availability
Now, let’s get to another important aspect of smartphones, which is the cameras. The Vivo X series is well-known for going all-in on the camera, and the X100s series doesn’t disappoint. You get a 50 MP primary camera on the X100s Pro, which measures 1/0.98-inch. It’s paired with a 50 MP ultrawide and a 50 MP periscope.
As for the non-Pro Vivo X100s, it has a smaller 50 MP main camera sensor, 50 MP ultrawide, and 64 MP periscope. That means the Pro variant is more capable than the regular version when it comes to camera performance. On the front, both smartphones come with a 32 MP selfie shooter that comes with many modes.
When it comes to pricing, the Vivo X100s starts at CNY 4,000 (around $555). The base model has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. It maxes out at 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, which costs CNY 5,200 (about $720). The Pro version starts at CNY 5,000 (around $690. Its base model also has 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
