Honor has launched two new models in China. The Honor 200 and 200 Pro are targeted at an upper mid-range and high-end market. Both phones are quite identical with minor differences, which we will cover below.
Design
Honor has always experimented with different design languages. This time we get a pebble-shaped camera module at the rear side. Moreover, there is also a wavy pattern making the phone stand out. The design difference between the vanilla and Pro is not much from the back. However, on the front side, the Honor 200 Pro uses a pill-shaped camera cutout while the vanilla goes for a punch-hole design. Both phones are available in a variety of color options.
Specifications & Features
Both the phone features a 6.7-inch OLED display. They have a high refresh rate of 120Hz providing a smoother experience. In the camera department, the Pro model shines with a 50MP custom H9000 sensor. This is a 1/1.3″ shooter that is also used on other phones such as Magic 6 Pro. Hence, you can expect flagship-level camera quality from this sensor. The camera setup is completed with a 50MP telephoto lens and 13MP ultrawide. The vanilla model has similar telephoto and ultrawide shooters, but a watered-down primary 50MP shooter. On the front, both get a 50MP selfie shooter.
Gizchina News of the week
One of the key highlights of the camera setup is the collaboration with Harcourt, a legendary French photography studio. They have brought the new Harcourt portrait mode which helps in producing studio lighting effects, with the integration of AI. With this portrait mode, users will be able to get some high-quality portrait shots.
Honor 200 Pro gets the power from Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. While the vanilla Honor 200 has a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip. Both are highly capable processors and can be used for extensive tasks including gaming. In the battery department, both the phone gets similar 5,200mAh batteries with 100W wired charging. However, only the Pro version gets wireless charging support of 66W. There are some more perks with the Pro such as the Honor C1+ chip enabling improved wireless and cellular connectivity. In the software department, both phone rocks MagicOS 8.0 based on Android 14.
