Nothing was previously teasing new color options for its mid-range phone, the Phone (2a). We were expecting the phone to come in three color options including red, yellow, and Blue. However, Nothing shocked us today by launching a new special edition of the phone. This special edition incorporates the three colors (which were teased earlier) including red, yellow, and blue. Let’s have a detailed look at the new Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition.
The new model keeps the DNA from previous Nothing smartphones. It sports a familiar transparent back, which has become an identity of Nothing. This is the only company that offers such a unique design, especially with the Nothing Phone (2a) in the mid-range market. Compared to other mid-range phones like the Samsung Galaxy A-series and the OnePlus Nord series, the Nothing Phone (2a) offers a unique aesthetic with its transparent back.
The Special Edition takes a step further and brings small hints of red, yellow, and blue. Why specifically these colors? Well, the official press release suggests that Nothing is celebrating primary colors and their place within Nothing’s brand identity.
Gizchina News of the week
The phone still has a subtle look. It does not appear too loud as these three colors are used very carefully in the design. Talking about this new phone, Adam Bates, Design Director at Nothing, gives his two cents on this new edition:
We are very happy to unveil Phone (2a) Special Edition. The first product to explore our palette of the primary colors; red, blue and yellow. Its overall aesthetic references some of our design heroes from the past, whilst creating a new expression for a smartphone. Elevating a functional device into a striking piece of art.
For those who want to grab the Nothing Phone (2a) Special Edition, the phone is priced at £349 (~$444) with configuration of 12/256GB. More information like in-depth specifications and features can be discovered on Nothing’s official website.
Nothing Phone (2a) Recap
Other than the new accent color design, there is no change in hardware. The Special Edition phone keeps the same hardware as the original one featuring a high-performing Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. It has a 6.7-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate AMOLED screen. While, in the camera department, the phone has a 50MP dual rear camera setup. For selfies and video calls, the phone gets a 32MP shooter. Nothing Phone (2a) also gets a big 5000mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. Moreover, the phone also has unique Glyph Interface lights. These are small lights on the rear of the phone. With these lights, users can be alerted about notifications and more. Tech enthusiasts like myself will surely appreciate this feature. Overall, it targets the mid-range market and stands out with its unique transparent design.
