Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra Appears on TDRA Certification

We have been hearing rumors about a new premium Samsung smartphone coming to compete with the Apple Watch Ultra 2 for quite some time. The device has been called Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Ultra, and more recently, some rumors have suggested it would come as Galaxy Watch X. Now, it seems that both names are incorrect, and the device will be simply dubbed Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. The name implies this is a rival to the Apple Watch Ultra. The device had its moniker revealed through the TDRA certification process in the UAE.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra – Samsung’s new Premium Smartwatch

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is coming soon and we can’t deny this fact anymore. The device is even amassing certifications like the TDRA listing which suggests the release is nearing. The Galaxy Watch Ultra was listed with the model number SM-L705F, and this variant offers cellular connectivity. Thanks to the FCC listing we know it will support 10W charging, which is quite fast for a smartwatch with a battery that is nowhere near what we have in smartphones.

Gizchina News of the week

Galaxy Watch Ultra

The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra will allegedly feature a squircle matte case design with a round 1.5-inch screen and a rotation bezel. There will be three buttons on the right edge and a large speaker grille on the left edge. The device is also said to feature 10ATM/100m water resistance and 100-hour battery life. Of course, that promised battery life would be impressive even for Samsung’s standards. So far, the Samsung watch that claims the biggest battery backup is the Galaxy Watch5 Pro with 80 hours of endurance. It is worth noting that the Galaxy Watch Ultra will feature a 578 mAh rated capacity battery. So it might be marketed as a 600 mAh battery. With such capacity and the right software optimizations, the 100-hour endurance does not sound too exaggerated.

Under the hood, the new smartwatch will carry the new Exynos W1000 SoC. It will go official in July alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and the Galaxy Watch7 family. There are also talks about the Galaxy Watch FE / Galaxy Watch 2024. If all this proves correct, Samsung could launch not only two but four smartwatch models at the next Galaxy Unpacked. To crown this as a big event for wearables, we will finally see the Galaxy Ring getting a proper announcement.
