HMD is actively bringing new smartphones to the market. The Pulse lineup targeted the entry-level segment. It’s time for HMD to move on to the upper mid-range segment. The first phone in this tier will be the HMD Skyline. There are now several listings on this phone revealing various details.
The phone comes with the model number TA-1688 and is being called “Skyline”. The latest listing page from a retailer (via NokiaMob) also confirms the name Skyline. On the listing page, the phone is available in Black color. The listing page also confirms the 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. The price mentioned on the page is 539 Euros roughly translating to 582 USD. However, this can be a placeholder price so take it with a pinch of salt.

At the time of writing, the details are scarce. However, previous leaks gave us a good idea of what to expect, covered by a reputable source GSMARENA. The HMD Skyline may bring a FHD+ OLED panel. This will get a buttery smooth experience thanks to the 120 Hz refresh rate. Being an upper mid-range phone, HMD will carry the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC that provides a decent performance. In the camera department, there will be a triple rear setup. A 108MP primary sensor, 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP macro or depth sensor will lead it. On the front, expect a 32MP selfie camera.
In the battery department, the phone may have a huge 49000mAh capacity with fast charging support of 33W. In the software department, the phone will rock Android 14 OS. Additional features include IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, an under-display fingerprint scanner, and stereo speakers.
With all the listing pages popping up, the release date is around the corner. However, the new listing page stated an estimated delivery date between August 9th and August 11th. Hence, we can expect the phone to be announced sometime in July.
